seroundtable.com — EarlPearl at SEO Refugee Forums notified me of a Google Groups thread where an employee at Duke Medical Center named Bart said a search for Duke Medical Center in Google Maps returns "two different entries in the top 10 results, neither of which is correct."

Ouch.. that is one real example of how Google hass risen to a status of almost godlike stature. People put an expectation that it can do no wrong. Great article i thought.

'medical emergencies' should NOT depend solely on f**kin google maps.

I've found Yahoo (Beta) Maps to return much better results than Google Maps. Overall I prefer Yahoo's map interface.

I use Google Maps daily in my job as a dispatcher. No one expects them, or any other mapping application, to be 100% accurate. It's an impossible task to expect anyone to have 100% accuracy with the number of road projects going on at any one time across the country. Roads are closed, new roads are built, it's a constant process. This sounds like the drivers who wreck their cars because their GPS system told them to take a turn where there was no longer a road. At some point human intelligence has to kick in.

Hmmm, seems like round one of humans .vs. robots. Pretty soon when you enter in that address them robot machines will print you our accurate directions.....right into the human killing fields set up by the robots.
