eurekalert.org— Apparently a UCSD political science professor, James H. Fowler, has just published a bona fide research paper on the effects of the ?Colbert Bump.?

It is sad when satire comedy programs like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report actually give you more news than the actual news networks. With that said, I never miss The Daily Show or The Colbert Report. :)
It doesn't matter why this thing was written. It might be skewed, it might be completely miss major factors, such as how many fundraisers the candidate has before a candidate is on Colbert as opposed to how many he does after. But ya know something? None of that matters. Why?It's entertainment. If it were anything more, it wouldn't have been on eurekalert.org. If it had more merit, It would have been on the UCSD website.Still cool tho. Colbert Kicks ass! That's my two cents.
They don't give you more news than actual news networks. Since neither give you a unbiased legitimate source of news I'd say they are about equal. (which is still sad...)We haven't had actual news networks since.....NEVER! Who wants acutely informed citizens?
Please call the Commission on Presidential Debates at (202) 872-1020 and politely request that they include Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party nominee for president, in the presidential debates.

The bump is not just about money like this paper says..its about recognition, and that in itself is invaluable. Silly researchers.
