I tend to believe it's both video games AND McDonald's. But, notice the rise in child obesity since the onslaught in gaming? Kids nowadays are lazy. To contribute to their fattiness, they sit there, game all day, and drink high-calorie, sugar loaded energy drinks, imagine that. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine WHY a gamer needs an energy drink.
Basic principal really, if you take in more calories than you burn off, your weight will go up.The problem with McD's is it has twice as many calories in one meal than you need to take in for your entire day. To counter that, you need to burn off those extra calories. If the kids do no activity whatsoever, they won't burn off those calories and thus gain weight. Now, is a sedimentary lifestyle a contributing factor? Yes. Is McD's avoiding the main contributing factor? You bet your Big Mac they are!
Big Food and consumerfreedom.com (their front group) supports the "No Child Left Inside" tax on video games and TVs, while the "food police" support taxes on junk food and fast food. We are officially in La La Land.
Did I just read that right? McDonald's blaming VIDEO GAMES for Childhood Obesity. I bet this got some reviews in the press! and yes Parent should not let their kids eat the crap McDonald's spew on a plate. It is only recently that McDonald's have had to put the Nutritional info on all their Burger boxes here in the UK and the results were shocking!
