thinkprogress.org — In a revealing interview with the New York Times, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) — an adoptive parent himself — declared that he opposed the right of gay couples to adopt children, even if it meant leaving children in orphanages.

"Mr. McCain: I think that we’ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no I don’t believe in gay adoption."Is he really that foolish to think that two men or two women... or a single man or woman.. can't constitute a family?News flash, Mr. McCain: two adults ARE two parents, regardless of gender.

Would the child rather have them or no parents at all?

Find me a kid who wants to stay in an orphanage if you think that gay adoption is wrong.

McCain is right on. Children raised from gay parents will be seriously confused and need therapy to recover so as to give their children a well-balanced character. The practice of homosexuality should be federally illegal because it is injurious to society as a whole especially to youth. We should not be deceived by the statement that it is an acceptable alternative lifestyle. It is perversion as much as human/animal sex and as such causes demoralization of society. It cannot be protected privacy because eventually the truth comes out as to what they are doing.

"It's really cool to have two gay dads because they brought us into a home and they adopted us and they love us."--- Child appearing in the video That's a Familyhttp://www.4children.org/news/101fam.htm

Then how do you explain what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? Fire came down and turned them to ashes. One of their chief sins was sexual immorality. A crowd of homos attempted to rape Lot's two guests in Sodom.

I may very well be wrong (my study of Christianity is admittedly limited), but is it not true that the God you believe it is now a God of Grace, whereas He was more in favor or wrath and punishment in the text you describe? Why then are we to believe, even with the many assumptions that you make that I am just giving to you here, that the practice of homosexuality is a danger to society given that millions have practiced it in modern society, and nothing like what you describe in that story has happened since? And for the record, I do not appreciate the way you make your points. Specifically, you say things that are unsubstantiated, and when you are called out on them you focus on something else to argue back on. I do not believe you have a source for claiming that "Children raised from gay parents will be seriously confused and need therapy to recover so as to give their children a well-balanced character." You cannot claim these sorts of things without being prepared to back up your statements, and when someone calls you out on it it is simply rude and presents yourself as an ignoramus to ignore that point and argue back on a different matter only. But we have seen thus far that this seems to be the defining characteristic of your debate.
