rawstory.com — Normallly presidential campaign season finds Republicans accusing Democrats of being out-of-touch elitists -- but this time it seems the shoe may be on the other foot. McCain "has worn a pair of $520 black leather Ferragamo shoes on every recent campaign stop ? from a news conference with the Dalai Lama to a supermarket visit in Bethlehem, PA."

Yeah, if we were a week late in paying our property taxes, the city would be seriously giving us a kick in the arse.

I really hope the foreign policy of this country doesn't swing on the types of shoes our leaders are wearing in meetings.

Eiknujrac and all who dug him, let's see if you can follow along:It's not the cost of the lapel pin that bothers Obama's critics, it's the fact that the lapel pin is the American Flag and that Obama felt the need to separate himself from it. That's more telling than whatever shoes someone might chose to where. And, much more important when you are running for President. Don't you see the distinction? Please . . . Next . . .

Nosferotu, it's not the so-called "big words" that earned Obama the "elite" label. Although, I will grant you that it was his words that got him in trouble here.Instead, it was things like Obama's claim that some folks "cling to guns and religion" as if it was out of some fear-based pettiness that people would desire such things. Nothing says you think you are better than others than deriding their religion and their freedom. This is just one of many examples. Yeah, Obama definitely thinks he's elite!

He needs good shoes to kick Obama's butt. If i could, I'd lend him my silver-tipped cowboy boots.

Here's a good rule of thumb: Shoes cost you $1 a day.If you get those $10 loafers at Payless Shoe Source, made from leather shavings and paperboard, they will crumble or become aesthetically unwearable within 10 wearings—and perhaps both. (This price does not include compensation for pain, blisters, or posture trouble.)If you spring for $250 loafers, you can count of a minimum of 250 days of wear, and most likely on those days you will walk in comfort, blister-free. The leather, being of some quality, will be easier to maintain in top condition. And even if the soles wear out, you can have them repaired. There are many places that we all can, and probably should, save a buck—but trying to do so on shoes is almost never a good idea, from any angle.
