Given that the most popular name in America for the type of cannabis plant that produces high amounts of cannabinoids has been marijuana for well over 100 years, I think we can safely assume that it exists as far as the American public is concerned. Technically you are correct, but it is really just semantics at this point. In America, if you say marijuana, people know what you mean while cannabis is a bit less popular and more vague since there are types of cannabis plants that do not produce the same chemical compounds in the same quantities as those that are used as medicine.
The fact is both of these guys are wrong. They have either been misinformed or are intentionally ignorant. In either case they have the wrong answer and thus they are wrong for the job. Maybe some day they will learn the truth but until that day comes they don't belong at 1600 Penn. Ave.

As the first licensed medical cannabis grower in Canada, I've seen the effects on many different conditions, and even got someone off morphine long enough (without any pain) to sanely and clearly, simply say good bye to his loved ones. It works, which is why it is illegal. I don't smoke it myself, it makes me feel sleepy.
