thinkprogress.org — On Larry King Live last night, when asked about the decision to invade, McCain went back to saying that he predicted America would have ?an easy victory? and that ?we did? McCain ignores the numerous disastrous consequences of that invasion, including over 4,000 U.S. soldiers killed and over 30,000 wounded.

Diggs "dupe checker" is fairly lax. It's lucky to catch a story that's a day old let alone a few minutes.

McCain is delusional. The invasion of Iraq was projected to cost ~USD50b (and it was promised that the price of a gallon of gas was going to stay cheap - perhaps less than USD1.00/gallon). As it turns out, the invasion has now cost ~USD1t (i.e., USD1000b) and the price of gas has quadrupled. Easy?? The invasion was 20x more expensive and produced 4x negative results!! FTW is McCain talking about, "easy" ?! Yes, the US does now control Iraq, but other than that tenuous claim, the invasion has been/is a complete and total failure.

It's good to have a president who is consistent...even with his own delusion.

It was nearly 3 years before he began to question the tactics. As any military man knows it's not the invasion that determines victory. It's the peace.maintaining it. A look back to the not so distant past illustrates it. The Marshall Plan is taught at the War College. But, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al... well they knew it all.Where was McCain when the administration shot General Eric Shinseki was dismissed for suggesting more troops were needed for order?
