thinkprogress.org — Yesterday on CBS Face the Nation, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) criticized Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez for calling President Bush ?the devil? in a speech at the United Nations. But he dismissed Jerry Falwell?s statement that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) would energize conservative voters more than Lucifer, stating, ?I think he was joking.?

McCain needs those "Evangelicals" for his political future. He can't afford to piss them off by condeming Jerry's diarhea at the mouth.

McCain once again shows everyone that the only thing he really believes in is his Presidential prospects and he will say and do anything to get there. I just don't trust the man anymore.

Well... speaking as a former right wing wacko... what Falwell said is true... The right hates Hillary. really hates her... and she would energize conservative voters more than anyone... even the devil himself... Hell, the right would rather put Bill back in over Hillery...So Falwell is right...
