thinkprogress.org — Last night, during his Saddleback Church presidential forum, Pastor Rick Warren asked both Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) to “define rich.” With regard to tax brackets, “where do you move from middle class to rich?” Warren asked. McCain, however, dismissed Warren’s question, asking in jest, “How about $5 million?”

Obviously, Obama's definition of rich is much lower, the way he said an important issue was above his pay grade.

FYI Obama got seriously owned at the Saddleback Forum. You can tell because now liberals are taking what he said as a joke, and even commented that liberals are going to love his answer, and putting it out as fact.plus Obama believes in God and God has been a major part in his life and he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.

republicans are so out of touch when it comes to the middle class. In 1997, Fred Heineman, republican of North Carolina, said last year his combined congressional salary and police pension (as an officer in New York City and the chief in Raleigh) of $183,500 made him lower middle class. ''When I see someone who is making anywhere from $300,000 to $750,000,'' Mr. Heineman was quoted as saying, ''that's middle class.''300K to 750K is middle class. In 1997.republicans. They just don't get it.

Too bad McCain himself said that comment would be misconstrued right after he said it. But of course someone has to jump right on it. He made the point that no one should be taxed more or less and, that he wants everyone to pay less taxes regardless of economic class. Let's talk about real issues and not bitch and moan about a joking statement McCain made.
