thinkprogress.org — Today at a town hall meeting, an audience member praised Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for his vow to “follow bin Laden to the gates of hell.” After a long question about veterans’ care, the questioner said she believed we needed to reinstate the draft, to which McCain seemed to readily agree.

"After a long question about veterans? care, the questioner said she believed we needed to reinstate the draft, to which McCain seemed to readily agree."And that bitch needs to ensure that every single member of her family over the age of 18--are the first in line. Let's face it, if you are for the draft for wars based on lies--then really be for them--don't volunteer one or two of your offspring--get those nephews, cousins, grandchildren, in -laws get 'em all over there for the "great war effort" If it truly is a cause you believe in--don't stint or tell us about "your son in Iraq" get all your motherfvcking asses over there and then we'll all see what a true believer does and we will all pay tribute to your idiocy with a lot of nice funerals .....

Did any of you actually read the last couple of comments? they pretty much sum it up about how this was taking out of context and is actually about veterans getting the health care they deserve - and if they don't then no one is going to want to serve and a draft would have to be reinstated if there were any future wars

I thought Bush was a Warmonger? Couldn't he start a war any damn place he wanted? I don't think McCain or Bush either one has said a word about reinstating the draft. What you meant to say is the media didn't try to hang the draft bulls**t on Bush as much as it is on McCain. Which also isn't true.

Obama isn't going to be any different. The Republicrats are screwing us all. Too bad everyone is too stupid to see there is no change coming from either of these two criminals running for President.

This is a question that needs to be asked to John McCain by a reporter that won't stand for a half-assed answer: `Do you support enacting a general draft for the Iraq War or any other future war?` ... if yes, gasp and watch McCain's poll numbers drop through the floor ... if no, ask the follow-up question: `How do you expect the military to continue at the current pace after so many of our troops have already exceeded any reasonable quota of extended tours of duty?` ... yes, its a loaded question, but one worth getting an answer to -- then wait for his response ...
