thinkprogress.org — In the face of overwhelming evidence that Americans want U.S. troops out of Iraq, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has baselessly declared that Americans will support a long-term military presence "as long as the number of U.S. casualties can drop to almost nothing."

I'm sick of all the wasted money - "18,000 adults in the USA die each year because they are uninsured and can't get proper health care." (USA Today)http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/healthcare/2002-05-22-insurance-deaths.htm Yet the answer is more military spending?

I see the "Bush" disease has spread to McCain. Next he will say global warming is a myth, and US citizens want a dictatorship.

We need to start our own "Netroots" political party ASAP. I'm serious. We can harness all of our blogger power across all of the various websites. There are a lot of us, we are very informed and we would attract younger people who are also the ones who will bear the burden of the mistakes of the last 6 years. We've tried to play nice with the current administration and it's just not working. It's time for us to stop whining and take real, decisive action.Lack of money can be overcome by the fact we are using blogs, websites, email and Youtube. I've looked into starting this party myself and I really don't know where to begin. Something needs to happen quick if we are to have an impact in 2008. The platform would probably be comprised of reasonable, well considered solutions to what the current problems are. Restoring the constitution, rebuilding the US to what it should be, dealing with big media, human rights, NAFTA, education, global warming, safe food etc. Doing what's right instead of what's "right for me" would be the approach. Underlying everything would also be protecting free speech on the internet. The bloggers are smart informed people are they are being taken for granted.
