huffingtonpost.com — On a Monday conference call with reporters, McCain campaign manager Rick Davis worked hard to elevate the issue of Barack Obama's undisclosed small donors, suggesting that it relates to other campaign controversies and could imperil Americans' confidence in the election outcome.

I'm not a part of ACORN. I'd never even heard of it until the Rethugs (and that is what they are now THUGS) bought it up. Oh well. Let me donate another 10 dollars to the Obama campaign, so we can see McCain and the Rethugs relegated to the dust-bowl of history!

John McCain locked himself into public campaign financing by questionably pledging money from public financing to secure a campaign loan during his faltering primary run. In doing so he limited himself to what he could raise per the public financing rules. Now he's all in a tither because Barack Obama astutely opted out of public financing choosing to rely on the tremendous grass roots support and small contributions he's earned from individual donors and rejecting donations from lobbyists and PAC's. McCain himself made this decision and it is just another example of McCain excersing poor judgement when under pressure. Now while he obviously regrets it, rather than man-ing up and accepting the fact that he did himself in, he is questioning the "source" of all the small (less than $200.00) donations to Obama. Under federal law while the names are recorded and are part of the record they do not need to be disclosed on campaign financing reports. Now the McCain camp is not raising the issue because they are really interested in knowing the names of the donors - they are raising the issue as a coordinated part of their desperate smear campaign against Obama. In other words McCain DOESN'T want the question answered - he just wants the question to be out there festering amongst the other vile and specious claims made by his rodents of the right-wing who spread misinformation and engage in character assassination. But there is a counter to this petty nonsense - If you have donated less than $200.00 to the Obama campaign send McCain an email letting him know that you're one of Barack Obama's small donors.Copy and paste the text below into your email:Subject Line: The Answer Sen. McCain Doesn't Want Senator McCain, You have questioned the source of all those millions of small donations made to the Obama campaign, suggesting that they may be from "nefarious" contributors. I want you to know that I am a just an average person who supports Barack Obama for President and am one of those "undisclosed" donators you are so curious about. Best regards! Send your email to: info@johnmccain.com When you send your email - CC it to this list of media emails below (just copy and paste) - this way the media will know that McCain's asked the question now he's getting the answer he really doesn't want. cnnnewsroom@cnn.com, countdown@msnbc.com, hardball@msnbc.com, nightly@nbc.com, phil.griffin@nbc.com, steve.capus@nbc.com, Jeff.zucker@nbcuni.com, rfournier@ap.org, a.latour@wsj.com, a.murray@wsj.com, darren.mcdermott@wsj.com, j.fry@wsj.com, kudlow@cnbc.com, wsj.ltrs@wsj.com, abrams@msnbc.com, advocate@thebulletin.us, byork@nationalreview.com, byork@thehill.com, ccrawford@cq.com, comments@mclaughlin.com, ElRushbo@eibnet.com, evening@cbsnews.com, Foxreport@foxnews.com, ftn@cbsnews.com, gretawire@fox.com, Hannity@foxnews.com, hemmer@foxnews.com, hume@foxnews.com, igcolonel@hotmail.com, irena.briganti@foxnews.com, jocelyn.austin@foxbusiness.com, Joe@msnbc.com, joetalkshow@aol.com, letters@charleskrauthammer.com, lou@loudobbsradio.com, me@glennbeck.com, mitch.davis@foxnews.com, netaudr@abc.com, Ontherecord@foxnews.com, oreilly@foxnews.com, race08@msnbc.com, richard.white@foxnews.com, robert.finnerty@foxnews.com, Special@foxnews.com, stu@glennbeck.com, suzanne.scott@foxnews.com, ureport@foxnews.com, weekendlive@foxnews.com, AndyMart20@aol.com, bsmith@politico.com, lindamuller@buchanan.org, LouDobbs@cnn.com, jake.tapper@abc.com, rachel@msnbc.com, info@ap.org, nightline@abcnews.com, 2020@abc.com, earlyshow@cbs.com, 60minutes@cbsnews.com, info@cnbc.com, comments@foxnews.com, Colmes@foxnews.com, dateline@nbc.com, today@nbc.com, newshour@pbs.org, ombudsman@npr.org, phil.boyce@citcomm.com, letters@latimes.com, readers.rep@latimes.com, news-tips@nytimes.com, senioreditor@nytimes.com, editor@usatoday.com, wsjcontact@dowjones.com, letters@washpost.com, ombudsman@washpost.com, letters@newsweek.com, letters@time.com, letters@usnews.com, tips@upi.com, fair@fair.org
