thinkprogress.org — In a post titled “Exxon Obama,” official McCain blogger Michael Goldfarb insisted Barack Obama “made a mistake” when he said McCain is the favored candidate of the oil companies. Goldfarb cites a report by the Center for Responsive Politics to claim that Exxon, Chevron, and BP employees have given more to Obama than McCain. This is a lie.

McCain, Obama... who cares? Jeez, it's not like either are going to do any good.

That is one big mistake-- and it is difficult to believe it was made innocently. The difference between the 1.3 million Dollars Senator McCain has received from big oil employees (including $$$$ from high management) and the $394,000 Senator Obama has received (largely from big oil employees, not high management) is gigantic.

Worship any man or woman is not a good idea, and though I fervently support Senator Obama for President, I certainly do not blaspheme and worship him. I believe you have been spun by the GOP spin machine, if you believe that. Also, I hope you are similarly outraged about Senator McCain's statement that he can defeat evil. I suppose he will also re-order the world and kick Satan out of it, since he believes he can, once and for all, defeat original sin. Incidentally, it was Senator McCain, himself, who claimed he could defeat evil, not some Democratic talking head on television.

Oh goodness.... did you know I could probably start the same story about you if I was so inclined. There is no judge on the internet and anyone can publish any pack of lies -- as the story to which you responded demonstrates and the stories to which you refer prove.

Under our law, a candidate cannot take money directly from a corporation. If you have proof that Senator McCain is doing that -- and not simply taking money from a PAC-- please disclose it.

Actually, for anyone interested in the real truth: <a class="user" href="http://www.huliq.com/66095/report-big-oil-companies-gave-more-money-obama">http://www.huliq.com/66095/report-big-oil-companie ...</a>"The surprising bit is that, the biggest recipient of contributions from Exxon executives and employees during this campaign is not McCain. It's actually Barack Obama.According to the report, Exxon employees have given Obama a generous $42,100 compared to McCain’s $35,166.The trend is rather similar with Chevron and BP.Chevron employees parted with $35,157 for Obama and gave a paltry $28,500 towards McCain’s bid for the U.S Presidency. BP employees donated $16,046 and $11,500 towards Obama’s and McCain’s campaigns respectively."
