I'll vouch for the 80's being the worst. I had 8x80's in an array a few years back and I had to rma one every two months.

Actual money in your country, you mean? That would be 923,758.95 Afghanis. How's it up there with the Taliban?
After watching falling dominoes videos, I've been compelled to say "THAT'S INCREDIBLE!"(Damn that 80's TV show.)

I had a Maxtor die under warranty, and I got a WD for free as a replacement! I just hope my 300 GB maxtor doesn't die, as it's full of data...

I've got two currently on the way to destruction. They make a nasty clicking sound when starting up. From now on I'm going Seagate since they have 5yr warranties. The ones that died on me were 1yr and 2yrs old; pretty young if you ask me.

ADDENDUM: The drive died after about seven months of ownership. That's terrible.
