carectomy.com — Whether feasible or not, you just have to love Mass Tram America’s “lofty” goals. Dubbed “The Highway in the Sky,” their vision is to create a suspended transit system that uses green power, is inexpensive, moves quickly, and opens up more space on the ground for us all to enjoy. Think of a monorail on steroids.

I misread the title as Miss Tran America. Otherwise, Mass Tram sounds great!

You must be retarded. 2 trillion dollars is not only going to fighting wars and protecting corporations.... then throw in the 150 billion my state is spending. Thanks for the suggestion... but no thanks, I'm already pissed about the 50% taken away from me in CUMULATIVE taxes.

Where have you been for the last 40 years? What do you think Amtrak is? Try taking it instead of flying, you'll be glad you did. You'll pay less for much better service and more comfortable accomodations. Bake some magic brownies before you go and munch on 'em during your trip if you are concerned about being stuck on a train for a long duration, time will scream by. There's showers, restrooms and dressing rooms on board, so you'll arrive at your destination refreshed in a fresh set of clothes if you so choose. Not to mention your civil liberties will still be in tact, a fringe-benefit of not dealing with the TSA.

Call 1-800-USA-RAIL today. They'll book you on technology that already exists that's capable of transporting you and 90 other passengers 100 miles on a single gallon of fuel. It's called A TRAIN.

Umm.. yeah. Why should a passenger be forced to wait for a infrequently-arriving vehicle, and then be forced to stop at every station that anybody wants to board/deboard? Plus, the vehicles would need to be so big to carry all of the people that they would be heavy and expensive, preventing a large number of them to exist in the system. Fewer vehicles means a greater interval between arrivals at a station. What about energy efficiency? It takes a lot of energy to accelerate that big, heavy vehicle. Plus, stopping at each station that someone wants to board/deboard means lots of acceleration, so lots of energy usage.PRT (see above link) would have very little, if any, wait time to board a vehicle. The vehicle would take the passengers non-stop to their destination. The vehicles would be small and light. So, more efficient.
