We had 52 months of job growth under Bush. He started with a recession and ended with a recession. He made many mistakes but its silly to blame him for everything now. There are still far more immigrants coming in than leaving.
Mr. Krikorian, as a leader among those begging the GOP to follow him and other anti-immigration gurus over an electoral cliff, has some 'splaining to do for why his strategy backfired so badly. It didn't net any additional Republican votes (beyond those already opposed to immigration or immigrants) and fired up the pro-immigrant vote in unprecedented ways. Oops.Opposing legal immigration, supporting policies that drive more of the immigration that is happening into the black market, and diluting America's border security by diverting resources to keeping out employees/taxpayers/contributors to our economic success isn't just bad policy, it's bad politics too.
Not only were many low income, many were outsourced to other countries. That takes not only the jobs from Americans, but the wages (spent in your local economy) and taxes (spent in your local economy) from America. Add that to the fact that many of the remaining jobs went to the financial and real estate markets, and were based on as much reality as those sectors have been for the last 5 years. We need to get you a little visine to clear up your vision and replace that koolaid with a little clean, fresh water. (quick before Bush's new rule allowing more pollution into drinking water takes effect)
