Oh ok fine. So where were you suggesting that depression came from hmmm? I can read fine. You on the other hand need to learn to think before you type. If you're going to maintain your extremely weak position that you didn't mean what you clearly said, then you're only proving you're incompetent at communication.
Depression is very real. However, to say it is due to an abnormal balance of brain chemicals is something that I believe to be dangerously misleading. If you ask me, the imbalance of serotonin is more like the symptom rather than the direct culprit. Serotonin does have a direct affect on mood. But what happens is that you get a powerfully negative feedback loop. A depressing lifestyle filled with depressing thoughts throws off the brain's chemistry, and this in turn negatively affects your mood and makes you even more depressed, which throws the chemicals off even more, and so forth.People don't become clinically depressed overnight. It's similar to addiction in many ways. The longer you're depressed, the harder it is to "quit" depression. Treating depression by altering the brain chemistry with drugs is not a cure. It just treats the symptoms. I suppose for some people it certainly is better than nothing. At the very least it can put a stop to that negative feedback loop that depressed people easily find themselves getting caught in.The cure for depression, however, lies in behavior. You need to be trained how to think, behave, and live differently. And that's much, much easier said than done.
"Ignorant"? I'm personally acquainted with literally dozens of Mormons -- even though I live in a 90% Catholic community. I know very well what Brigham Young's offspring are like as a group.
