Postal codes in Canada provide an outline of an area. You don't even need the town or province name on a parcel or letter if you have the postal code on there.
@kentdigg, same in the US. Each ZIP code is unique, however the Postal Service prefers the city and state to be included for redundancy and fault tolerance.
So is Bernardston, MA, with a ZIP code of 01337. There doesn't seem to be a place with the code 31337. I imagine the folks there are so 1337, they cannot be tracked by current technology.
