I doubt that anyone here has been turned away from medical treatment when they really needed it. Should I have to pay for someone to get a new knee b/c they don't have proper health care...absolutely not! But if it's life threatening no one has ever been turned away.

Mothrog, you just proved his point. You see people in a situation of despair and you call them imbeciles because they didn't bring bottled water... why would they do so really? maybe because a freaking hurricane destroyed their whole city and maybe they were slightly disoriented ? That's one plausible explantion I think.

I think America's Health Care sucks.. but it won't be better with more government involvement. Government involvement is WHY it sucks. It needs to be de-regulated entirely. No government involvement at all.

OMG that's exactly what I was doing! Now what?Isn't Digg intended to work that way?

Right! And the most funny thing, judging from the other comments here, is that you've been brainwashed to think that it shouldn't be your right.

Health socialism is the PROBLEM with America's healthcare system, not the solution:http://oneminute.rationalmind.net/socialized-healt ...

Hananda makes a good point - universal health care appeals to me, but does it hurt productivity in the sense that there's less incentive to have a job, etc. That being said, people deserve health care whether they have a job or not, so perhaps the point is moot.

Your newspapers are full of stories of people dying in the queues. And people who, are paying all their lives, are denied care because they are deemed too fat. Hey. They weren't too fat to pay all those years, were they ?

Oh, and Cuba is on the list? Why cause Castro says so? Don't you know they don't have a Freedom Of Information act in Cuba. The government just lies! Why do you think Cubans swim with sharks to escape?Anyway, Universal Healthcare works great. Until you get sick.Do you know how badly the healthcare system is working in, for example, Canada and England? Do you know that it's common for people to die waiting months to have an MRI? It's common for people to suffer in pain for years waiting their turn to have a knee operation? And these are people that have contributed all their lives. But the resources are spent on bums and illegal immigrants instead? And that's what Obama, and Hillary, are promising to bring here? It doesn't work in Canada and it doesn't work in England.Do you know there are thousands of Canadians every year that come down here for operations. At their own expense.

But he's right - it *IS* unconstitutional. It's stealing money from people to pay for your healthcare.

The US's terrible broadband service is a direct result of too much government regulation, not too little. As it stands now, ISPs are given monopolies by local governments, which destroys competition.

It's not about being in love with money. It's never right to steal money from one person and give it to another, no matter how needy they are. Also, I'm going to bitch about it because here in the United States, nearly 2/3 of the federal budget is spent on entitlements like healthcare, rather than being used on legitimate, constitutional government programs.

So we should get rid of all social type programs! Self reliance and responsibility. why does one half have to pay for the other.

A prime minister from Canada came to the United States because the surgery he needed wasn't available in Canada. If universal healthcare was so good, why did one of their elite have to leave the country for care? We need to realize that socialized medicine controls costs by controlling care - which means denying it
