nytimes.com — Research shows that among the youngest Internet users, the primary creators of Web content (blogs, graphics, photographs, Web sites) are not misfits resembling the Lone Gunmen of ?The X Files.? On the contrary, the cyberpioneers of the moment are digitally effusive teenage girls.

I think it's wonderful that more and more young whites are immersing themselves in the world wide web.

"Blacks step aside, this is our internet", is that analogy simple enough to get you understand the anger yet, you bigoted douche?

I've never heard of any society that could be accurately described as patriarchal.

I'm not going to be sarcastic like most of you, so you'll probably end-up digging this down...This article is ridiculous. It's based off a survey conducted among her site's users...which I'm betting are mainly girls.I've found the total opposite. I read a lot of blogs, mainly about design, blogging, php coding, etc. Very few of them are run by girls. As a serious designer trying to start a business, I tend to follow links from websites to the companies that designed them, and again, plenty of evidence against this article Hanging out at FreelanceSwitch.com, again, what the heck are they talking about?I'm trying to not be as sarcastic as the rest of you, but I'm sure I caught the terms "glitters" and "myspace" in the article. And no, myspace profiles are not websites.Sorry, this article has pretty much zero validity.

hahahaI have just been sitting here and reading all this...i am female and I make websites...not glitter or fluff balls...but that besides the point...i just wanted to add that reading all this has been mildly entertaining for me to the point I have bothered to make a comment...what do i think of the article...i dont really care to be honest...women bore me...then again men do as well...though men are more funny... women take things too seriously....err.... though some men try to be funny and are not... im not sure whats worse.... an unfunny man... or an uptight woman...as for websites... truly.... in the real field of webbie stuff... its men... as with the majority of these industries.... thats just the facts right now...who knows it might change...but i still wont care.... ..why?..because nothing really matters... and nothing really exists.... its all an illusion...bumholes

Interesting this made it the NYT...but then again not. A oneisded story that puts together anectdotal stories to make a weak point to begin with. These kind of stats from some remote surveys are weak at best given there is no formal reference. I would like to hear about the guy that runs aboysworld.com and see what data he provides. You gotta love objective journalism!
