dailymail.co.uk — Mark Camm, 43, was unsteady on his feet and could barely talk because of his neurological condition. But instead of taking him to the nearest hospital, officers assumed he was drunk and disorderly and arrested him. Not once did the officers enter his cell to carry out a routine examination, preferring instead to look through the grate of the door.

If there was justice in this world those jailers would end up on trial for murder, or at the very least manslaughter.

A law enforcement system is what allows you to sit on your ass in safety and complain over the internet. It's sad that this happened, and the police officers which handled it were incompetent, but for f**k sake people, show some respect. Without laws and people to enforce them, we would not be a civilized society, only anarchy.

Geez you guys - I was just saying the treatment people receive by cops and in jail is really bad - worse than you think. I doubt if the UK is much better, though they probably serve tea to the inmates.

My experience has been that people who want to become police officers are usually the very last people who should be allowed to be police officers.

Sorry, but this is wrong.I work for police forensics- mainly dealing with rape victims, dead bodies and the health of people in custody.Things like this happen all the time because its not the police role for health checks, it's private companies like us that they are outsourced to. I could name six people in the last four months that have died or nearly died in custody because of the lack of clinical cover in police districts. Personally, I've never killed anybody, but I know people who have been helpless to offer any sort of medical support to the DOs (detention officers) and those people have then gone through alcohol withdrawal or whatever they may be suffering from. In a nutshell: it's not the police's fault. Its the money grabbing private companies who are to blame.
