iht.com — The Iraqi television reporter who threw his shoes at President George W. Bush at a news conference appeared before a judge Tuesday and admitted "aggression against a president," a judicial spokesman said. The court may send him for trial under a clause in the Iraqi penal code that makes it an offense to attempt to murder Iraqi or foreign presidents

And while they're at it, they should sack the whole lot of incompetent security staff that allowed an assassin armed with SHOES near the precious president. Didn't they know shoes ar among the deadliest weapons man has devised? Haven't they seen "From Russia, With Love"?

I bet you $5 this man would not have thrown a shoe at Saddam Hussein.

Attempted murder!!! hahah. A shoe! A shoe people. My friend busted a guys face with a beer bottle, smashed out most of his teeth and broke several of his ribs, and he got community service - they dropped the aggravated assault charges. And that was ag. as. with a deadly weapon! This guy threw a f**king shoe...get over it, bush didn't even get hit, and deserves much more than a shoe being thrown at him.

This is sad. Everyone is all upset over a couple of shoes being thrown. Actually it was a pretty minor thing. You don't see people up in arms over the murders that happened in their city that day or the violent crimes. How many people got raped or beat in your city the day that happened? Are you shocked or up in arms over it? NO! You probably didn't even pay much attention to it on the news. More then likely you have already forgot about it.

Well, the thing is how both the Iraqi goverment and Bush whould have to deal with this issue. We are not talking here weathere the punishment will be fair or not because both parties(Iraqi and American) have the power and the ways to do whatever they want and it is a kinda of stupid to think it is a fair world. For the Iraqi goverment ,I think their priorty at this stage to give a message to the inside and outside of Iraq that they have the contol and power to lead Iraq and what happened during Bush visit represents oppostion to all the hard work the Iraqi goverment have been doing since the last years to get support from Americans. The Iraqi goverment will not allow this thing to pass easly becasue otherwise it will put them in many bad situations in the future and is the main reason why they are talking about the 15 years punishment .For Bush He is gonna hit tow birds with one stone. He will try to show the world that he is a nice person and that he is ready to forgive that guy but at the same time he will say it is the bussines of Iraqi law to decide what has to be done giving them the chance and pushing them at the same time to make a hard punishement for that guy.

Obama is by far an intelligent individual compared to the war-criminal and for him to be insulted on the international media in this manner will require him to be born again in the BUSH family:)

If you really believe that then you probably have more in common with Bush than you'd care to admit - he too would like to see the people he disagrees with dead.
