@InspectorGadget - I'm not going to pick apart the book, cause it's 400 pages long, but here's a little quote from an essay at the end called "Critique of the Bell Curve""[The authors of The Bell Curve] ...downplay the strong circumstantial case for substantial malleability and little average genetic difference (impressive IQ gains for poor black children adopted into affluent and intellectual homes; average IQ increases in some nations since WWII equal to the entire 15-point difference now separating blacks and whites in America; failure to find any cognitive differences between two cohorts of children born out of wedlock to German women, and raised in Germany as Germans, but fathered by black and white American soldiers)."If you've read the Bell Curve, I recommend this book...it's an interesting read, especially the chapters on craniometry and the hereditarian theory of IQ. And the essay at the end, from which the quote was taken, talks a lot about problems with the collection and analysis of the data in The Bell Curve

dk,Let me put it this way. If you think that he actually thought that he was committing a crime, you're the one who needs to re-evaluate your intelligence. He was taken advantage of. Period. He's not stupid, just mentally challenged or insane. If you're so smart, you should know better than to make fun of people like that. A high percentage of our prison population is mentally infirm; that's where we throw those people away. (Not most, just a high percentage. I felt like clarifying that, because like a lot of supposedly intelligent people your ego is getting in the way of your analysis and comprehension.) The behaviorally challenged tend to use drugs as solace, and unfortunately tend to have poor judgment in the people they choose to trust.And no, I'm not related to him. I'm just a qualified professional who happens to know what he's talking about, not just a sad naysayer who likes to feel better by berating others.
