nydailynews.com — A Queens man claims in a federal lawsuit that he was wrongfully arrested by the NYPD for soliciting a street hooker - right in front of his pregnant wife. Emeka Obi is seeking $14 million in damages for the 12 hours he spent in jail and the six months he waited for the charges to be dismissed.

"people that sue the gov't and police are right for it, sometimes. This is one of those times, but 14mill is absured. maybe 1k-10k an hour plus a bonus 1k-10k for the 6months until the charges were dropped, but 14mil just hurts everybody in NY that is"It's also worth mentioning that even if he wins it is pretty unlikely that he will actually get $14M. If he wants even a reasonable amount, he probably has to aim high.

Prostitution should be legalized, regulated, and taxed.Half the violent crimes, a large proportion of cases of sexually transmitted diseases, and at least half the federal deficit would disappear.

Traumatized my ass he just want money so lets get that out the way. It sucks what happened to him but this is about as stupid as suing Mcdonalds cause the coffees hot, stop suing everyone, have some honor and dignity.

I'm betting his wife asked for a 3 way..Cops would not do this if they were as innocent as they say..

Actually, the police officer flagged the man down. Thats why he pulled over, he thought she needed directions. In a civil suit, an attourney could could try and convince a jury that that was entrapment.
