Good for him. You can never have too much positive karma. My wife and I have given a few iPods away to some of her cancer patients (she works at a children hospital). There's nothing like watching kids in that situation light up when they start listening to it all day while they're getting treatment. And in the cases where they just don't win their battle, their parent have something full of their music to listen to, remember, and get them through.It's a shame myself and others don't do stuff like this more often. I have $. I've been blessed with a good life and a good wife. If I can make someone else happy with it, then that's a good day.
I say keep rolling with the iPod fixin' & givin'. There is nothing wrong with making someone feel good. Money isn't the only thing you know. Okay, yes it is.
