engadget.com — While it's not likely that you'll encounter the Arbiter on any given day, the slightly off-kilter Project Grizzly inventor has gone out of his way (and possibly his mind) to create what resembles a real-life Halo suit, sporting protection from gunfire and ensuring you an award at Covenant gatherings. Troy Hurtubise created the suit, dubbed Trojan.

Nice piece of work. Might be a bit too heavy though.

Police wearing this suit maybe, but marines using it is not going to happen. It may stop a regular bullet, but not a 50 cal rifle. Especially one with a slap round that projects 4,000 fps. It can shoot through not one, but two 1 inch ( 2 inches) steel plates and keep going. 12 inch accuracy at 2,000 yards! This one doesn't demonstrate the semi-automatic features. 5 rounds in 1.5 seconds. Hate to say it but I don't think this guy is going to get much action from the military on this suit. He's about 15 years too latehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSOUWtd-mecI bet you wouldn't feel so comfortable in this suit if your enemy had one of these.

If it's too hot, just have one guy in each unit who can suit up as needed. Kind of like the guy the cops have who puts on the bomb suit. It'd be nice extra protection for the first guy into the terrorist's hidey-hole.

*sigh* Am I really making myself that unclear? I know the difference between trying to carry a lighter load with low-endurance muscle groups and carrying a heavier load with high-endurance muscle groups. What I'm saying is that there's a certain point where you increase the weight enough and it's a moot point because physics simply take over and you wouldn't be able to carry it with EITHER method. You example was crap. You said: "Ask a soldier if they would rather carry 25 lbs in their arms for a mile, or wear a 50lb. pack..."That's exactly the OPPOSITE of what we're talking about. They currently carry 25 lbs of body armor on their torsos. It's spread out around their torso and you can assume they've put a pretty good amount of thought in how to balance it properly. Now, you're asking them to continue with that 25 lbs and add an extra 15 lbs. which will fall more on their arms and legs. They will also be carrying their 60 lb pack. Even if all this was perfectly balanced, its 105 lbs. It's just too much.

TROY HURTUBISE CAN CURE CANCER. The inventor of this suit also invented a tonne of other stuff. Fire paste, God light, Angel Light and a wonderfu novella about the angel Gabriel.. which is kinda weird but still cool.Check out his youtube channel and other stuff on DIGG! http://digg.com/general_sciences/GOD_LIGHT_Cures_c ...
