consumerist.com — ...One great advantage of my VOIP provider (Primus, for anyone who cares) is that their base package includes many interesting features, including the possibility to redirect any number to another. Thirty seconds later, I had the fax number redirected to the receptionist's number.

No, it's not real. Buried because not only is it inaccurate, but it's been PROVEN inaccurate, contains links in their forum to the USPS procedure stating that it's inaccurate, and because it's ridiculous that people still post this crap up given how long it's been proven incorrect for.Although, while we're on the subject of old hoaxes, I have a recently deceased relative in Nigeria who left me a large sum of cash that I need a foreigner to move for me...Willing to help? :D

years ago i used to work in a video rental store. my boss was this bitch of a chain smoker who was always cranky. permanent PMS. whenever any fax spam would come through she would make note of the number it came from on a note pad she kept by the fax machine. she would then take 6 sheets of 8.5x14 black paper, all carefully taped together and then fax them back to the sender. what makes it funnier is halfway through she would tape the two ends together making a nice roll of black paper. depending on how often this person faxed her crap, she would fax anywhere from 50 to 99(that was all you could type in) pages. sometimes that roll would spin for like 5 minutes.

I think, if you want to avoid the junk faxes, you can use some fax software, such as joyfax, as your main faxing devices. Then, you can just delete the junk faxes on your computer, saving you lots of paper.

Redirection should would with internet fax as well. That could be interesting. Brilliant tactic. Perhaps Primus will improve their customer service now too.
