Man Arrested for Riding His Bike Home From an Airport!

greencycles.blogspot.com — A man visiting his family in Minnesota decides to ride his bike to his family's house from the airport. He quickly gets pulled over by the cops where the situation gets completely blown out of proportion and leads to him being thrown to the ground, tasered and arrested for 8 hours with out any charges. I'd have to agree with adammil2000 as well. Was the cop being an assh**e? Yes. Was the bike rider being an assh**e in a polite and condescending way? Yes. Was he resisting the Officer's legislated authority? Yes. (Ghandi ring any bells? There are lots of ways to resist.)Did the cop's supervisor cover for him? Yes. (What was his choice at that point? Open the department to a lawsuit by admitting the guy had been assaulted for having a bad attitude or throw the book at the obnoxious bicycle guy?)Like it or not the cop on the street is the authority figure in any conflict between citizens and law enforcement. Now, if you are a kid and you argue with your Mom about something regardless of whether it breaks the house rules, is Mom going to back down? I don't think so!The lesson here is be polite to police officers and do try to make them look like jerks because they can and will find (or make up) some reason to stomp you and throw you in jail. Even if you beat all the charges you still got a beating, thrown in jail and probably had to pay a lawyer some money.

I like how most of the Anonymous comments on his blog are obviously that of a police officer (presumably friends or somebody acquainted with Officer Wingate). Those posts are also pretty blatant as to the fact that they want to make Stephan look inferior to their knowledge or comprehension of the situation. These people are what you would not deem a "Critical Thinker." They should go back to college or go to college if they didn't attend one in the first place.On a side note: Cops like this are the low-level scumbags you hear about in movies.I hope he gets a good lawyer, and if it does come down to his word vs. the police, I hope he takes it to Supreme Court.
