He obviously cut-and-pasted that necklace -- it's identical. Also look at the fabric in the final product. Looks identical as well -- pixel for pixel. All this guy did is take a final product and work it backwards to make it look like he started from scratch. He blurred the face a little, added his own "imperfections", a gaussian blur here, a bandage tool there, some more smudging, and finally traced the thing with a pencil tool. The only thing I'm impressed with is how much work he put into making this look like he really did it.
Indeed. Notice how I used the important pronoun "me" in the sentence, "Exactly what should LotR have inspired *me* to do?" I don't know what's going on with you man. I added you to my friends before because I thought you were cool. I don't know why you're getting all uppity.
hello i just registered so i could explain to anyone who is in doubt over the legitimacy of this image. the reason this image looks exactly like the photo is because he has painted over the original. it is obvious. I think the first "sketch" is purposely misleading, to sugest that he has drawn the picture from eye. Anyone can do this sort of image to a reasonable standard, just open the photo in photoshop, and work over it on a transparent layer, sample the colour from the photo, use a bit of blending, add some "ahem" noise to the picture to cover your tracks, and voila! the problem is, you are still no better at drawing from doing this, just better at tracing. drawing from a photo without tracing requires more skill, but ultimatley anyone wanting to learn anything from a tutorial should have alot of practice at drawing from life first. then... use your ****ing imagination to create some real art, dont just copy photos! ^_^
