I imagine that it's a cheaper way for developers to prototype a new electronic device.How about this: you have an idea for a new RFID-enabled hand device for keeping track of store stock. Just showing the interface on your laptop wouldn't interest many potential investors. But, if you actually "construct" it using these modules, build in the interface and then show a cgi mock up of the end-product, then you'd have a leg-up to other inventors.
