community.linux.com — Fullerscreen is an extension that gives Web pages in Firefox the full run of your monitor. If you spend much time using Web-based applications like Gmail, Google Notebook, or Backpack, Fullerscreen is a must-have addition to Firefox.

It's fun to look at all the extensions you're all downloading and laugh. I'm a stuck up mac user who has this built in... yay!

It doesn't work with shockwave files. Try it with this link.http://gamefiles.dragongamez.com/games4/stickmanmadness/stickmanmadness.swfI have been using IE to play this one full screen.

@jaytbTry making sure your browser is selected, and not in the background.

@jaytbIt happens because you are "using" flash, which is effectively acting as a seperate program running within your browser. You can switch back to Firefox by clicking anywhere outside of the Youtube flash player (title bar works well), or by pressing Alt+Tab twice to return focus to Firefox.Alternatively, you can use the "Content Area Focus" extension, which will return focus to your browser window when you press a key: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2616

@punkrampantThat can be turned off in the preferences, just uncheck the "show me when it changes" button for the status bar.

Don't forget Autohide's option menu. You can choose to Autohide/Always Show: Menu Bar, Navigational Bar, Bookmarks, Tab Bar, Windows Taskbar.

Great work! However, my HTML page's background is black, and the full screen still leaves a white line on top of the window. Could I set the top white line's color ?

I joined Digg just to reply to this... I'm sure the original poster will never see it, or has already figured it out. But there is a Firefox extension called "split browser" that does exactly what you want done. Simply go to "addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/" and search split browser, it seems pretty efficient at what it does. I wish you the best of luck.

There is a system implementation that allows full-screen mode (with hidden dock) built inside Mac OS X, it is called SystemUIMode (see Apple Technical Note TN2062). Unfortunately it seems no one has taken the time to put it to work on a mac only firefox add-on. If I had the skills I would do that :( There is a nice little browser called iCab that takes full advantage of that implementation, I use it to allow an Internet kiosk for "visitors" on my macs.
