techcrunch.com — Google and Intuit are announcing a partnership today at 1:15 pm PST. The meat of it seems to be that they are building Google services directly into Intuit’s QuickBooks, so small business users will be able to list themselves on Google Maps, create and manage advertsing campaign with Adwords and post listings on Google Base.

Love Google, too bad they had to join with a company who disdains customers, and thinks support is a four letter word, as in PAID. At one time or another I have purchased and attempted to use nearly all (including the on line version) of Intuit products. The latest round was a purchase of the Intuit Premier Small Biz Edition plus a one year technical support plan. Total out of pocket over $500. Support was worthless, even when I could understand the "Engrish". So I did the unthinkable, I switched to MS Money for small business. Total cost $89. And that includes unlimited FREE technical support! Forever! Plus instead of "Engrish" I get pleasant, articulate support in real English. As a 90% of the time Mac user there's little love lost on MSN, however compared to Intuit, Gates and company are like angels from heaven.

Along with the support they charge for, I also hate the advertising. Now some will say that a finanacial package as complete as Qbooks has to use advertising in order to supplement the cost of the programming that is needed, I say baloney. Why not offer 2 versions? One without the advertising... it'll cost more (which I would pay for). The other with the advertising which costs less. Not to mention they are always downloading more advertising in the background, and don't even get me started on the "You-have-to-connect-to-the-QuickBooks-server-to-email-an-invoice" feature. Grrr...

I read "Inuit" instead of "Intuit". Go figure!

This is just a marketing deal until Google launches gAccounting and finally shoots the dead horse that is Intuit.

not really sure I'd want to give google even more access to my private accounts on a business computer... seems like google will next be indexing your receivables and payables.. perhaps there'll be an "I'm feeling like paying my taxes" button

Too bad quickbooks is a pile of s**t, any amount of google integration still wont make that software package any sexier.

To me, it's not that huge of a deal (at least yet)... but just another piece of the puzzle toward's Google's domination of the world.

You better believe there will be Google ads on small businesses' websites. Adwords...Adsense... way to go- again- Google. i'm glad i'm on the user end of your business model.
