pwnordie.com — There have been players featured on the covers of John Madden Football games since 1999 even though the franchise first appeared in 1988. For the first few years the box art for the annual game featured John Madden himself. Take a look at the 12 players the curse has claimed.

I never believed in the curse as more than coincidence until this year. When I first fired up Madden '09, I immediately noticed Ed Hochule's face as the ingame ref. Since, he's blown two major game calls and dodging death threats in his hometown of San D. Wow, the Madden curse even extends to refs...M

If the Madden curse and the Chunky soup curse are both real, is it possible that John Madden is actually made of Chunky soup?

This is common knowledge, but whatever.

The person in the article obviously is not familiar with football. Ray Lewis is not PROBABLY in the mist of a Hall of Fame career, he is a lock for the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. He could have retired a couple of years ago and still have gotten in. Also Shaun Alexander is not coming back to previous form. Everyone knows when running backs hit 30 they decline very rapidly so it's not a big surprise that Faulk and George went downhill. Also they are both going to make the HoF.

Oh how Vince Young fallen. I still say he is not ready to play starter next year after seeing him play in the indy game

To be fair, Marshall Faulk's appearance came at an age (30) when most RB's start to see their stats decline. Especially in today's NFL when RB's are usually considered done by 32 or 33.Edgerrin James is a great current example of that. He turned 30 last year and is basically done. Ladainian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson will probably be two more examples. And none of these three are anywhere near as dangerous as Faulk was in his prime.
