Use Google, and you will find MANY instances where Microsoft has had "those convictions" enforced. Microsoft paid up, since it was still cheaper to cop the fines than to allow a competitor to exist.

I'm not going to use it if I have to use Silverlight to get it to work. I don't need ANOTHER media technology to download. Why couldn't Netflix use Flash?

I've been a mac user all my life and I can vouche that silverlight works wonderful with os x leopard. I streamed in high def the olympics and it was awesome. Better than flash, dont knock it till you try it freak

Who ever though companies like MS and IBM would be supporting OpenSource, either.If enough of the market demands it, it could happen.
