I'm still going to wait to get a Macbook. I'm going to wait for them to work out all the flaws first before buying one. With the bad press the Macbooks got recently who can blame people for being upset about them? I don't see why all the anti-Macbook comments got dug down. It ain't right the Apple charges more for the black model, they might as well charge more for the black iPod.
If you have any idea of the computing scene in Canada, you know that if you are talking Apple, you properly from Vancouver. I know half a dozen people who have purchased the first gen MacBook including my Girlfriend. A VERY IMPORTANT note for those interested in purchasing a MacBook:DO NOT PURCHASE THE WHITE MODEL.If you are a freak clean person, it doesn't matter. It will stain and end up brown in no time. Pay the extra bucks and go Black. Ask any honest salesperson and they will not disagree.
I concur, I'm getting mine sent in for the 2nd go, this time to repair a flickering lcd backlight issue. while the camera was getting repaired the first time, the heatsink and some other various parts were swapped out with the camera. I knew better than to buy a first gen, but at least i didn't have the mooing! :P (it's black by the way, for anyone who's counting...)
I just purchased a Black Macbook Core Duo for $1199 ... I figure I can take the hotter laptop and just find a deal on a gig of DDR2 on eBay and save the money! I figure the Core Quad will be available on laptops in a year or so why waste money on a core 2 duo when you can get a great discount on a brand new Black Macbook that is almost as fast (or will be with the RAM I'll buy).
I bought the new macbook core2duo but this notebook is going back to the apple store (Laval, Québec) it's a white C2D 2.0ghz, 1gbas we speak the computer is pluged in and the temp is around 55- 60C the temp under the notebook is VERY HOT, so hot that I need to put a small pillow to prevent burning. it's a big joke, they shoulnt have sold this thing before testing.

I don't know why this guy got dugg down so hard. He wasn't preaching or anything - just a happy follower of his lord.
