Apathy has its place especially when is comes to self aggrandizing individuals who feel its their duty to make everyone else take action for their cause because they feel its importance outweighs the will or rights of others. Its a more personal issue that should be treated as such and it isn't in societies best interest to kowtow to these individuals lest their underlying psychosis manifest itself in ways that may in fact be worse for society.
I'll be even more cynical. It was just a way of that stupid eating disorders group to get some press and pump up donations. I'm glad Apple didn't give them the satisfaction of a fight. It went away and most people still never heard of them.
People? No, no... I DO believe this was a targeted attack at robots, however. Seven roombas have already killed themselves, and R2D2 has checked into betty ford.

If this is the best Apple advertisement department can come up with, they deserve it.
