engadget.com — Apple's just unleashed its latest 10.5 update on an unsuspecting (well, totally suspecting, actually) crowd, so go ahead and fire up Software Update and see if Cupertino's left you any 10.5.8-flavored presents under the tree.

Thanks for the kind words, MacParrot! But at least you sound reasonable. Maybe, just maybe, someday in the future you and can bury the hatchet. Probably not, though.

But still i can say that a mac is way better then windows. And that says alot about windows.

So you and I agree then.Because I said I am willing to do a clean install for every major upgrade, and that's what you said too.But your original post is in a thread about a minor update, which I never do clean installs for. In any case, the reason I think it can be a Mac vs Windows thing is because I hear so many Windows users - so many - who claim that you must do a complete format and reinstall regularly, or even once a year. I rarely meet Mac users who feel that is necessary. Most of the Mac people I know don't perceive that their systems have to be wiped anywhere near as often as Windows people feel it must be done. My Macs enjoy very long uptimes and literally years between reformats because they work just fine, and I put in long hours on my Mac doing graphics production.

Download the update DMG first, THEN apply them. I've been hosed a couple times doing the "Software Update" method.
