I think after all the bitching about translucent menus and menu bar ppl should be happy it's been made an option... Apple is very weird when it comes to UI options. I'm really curious if I am going to be able to back up to my FreeBSD 7 data server I'm in the process of building. I'd really like to be able to use ZFS if possible for my backup needs.

On the contrary, making the users aware of the file structure of their machine is only a good thing. It has been simplified enough on OS X that applications appear to be one file and are easily found. The start menu keeps users in the dark about how their storage space is organized which is only a bad thing when it comes to advancement of computer literacy.

On that note, though, have you tried to deal with the Applications folder as a stack? I don't think there's a worse way to view applications. Anybody with more than the OS's preinstalled components in their Applications folder will likely overflow that window, totally defeating the purpose of it. The window takes up a huge area, the icons are organized in a grid, which means a lot of scanning for the one you're looking for, and the short truncated application names mean often times the only way to find your application, if you haven't already had to switch to finder as it was too long a list for Stacks, is by the icons - a lot of eyework, again.*gasp*I should be grateful, though, that inconvenience has led me into the world of opening every folder through Quicksilver.

I always liked the way it was some time back where CRTs would have rounded corners and LCDs would have squared corners. For all I know, it could be like that now. Anyone running Leopard on an eMac want to chime in?

Does anyone know how to share CD's from a computer that is not the MBA? I have a computer without a DVD drive and need a DVD drive. I have turned on CD sharing on both computers, but I can't see how to actually share the disk.
