Have you ever tried PowerShell on Windows? It's over-engineered in typical Microsoft fashion, but it's also pretty badass. You can pipe objects, not just text, from one program to another.

yes, I have used Dell support a few times. Once my harddrive failed and I had a new one the next day. Another time my screen failed and someone was over to fix it in 3 hours. No businesss contract, no indians, first class support. I have nothing but good things to say about Dell's tech support and their staff.
