"2 GB of RAM standard is a huge deal and defnitely worth picking it up for"Removing the option to choose 1GB RAM is NOT an updated "feature." It might make the machine a better VALUE if they didn't increase the price for it, though.
Aren't LED backlights supposed to provide for more even illumination, as well? I know especially on laptop LCDs CCF backlighting tends to create bad hotspots.
I really want the "nub" thing that IBM Thinkpads have. I love that so much more than a trackpad. Even if it was a tiny one with dinky mouse buttons underneath; nobody has the nub anymore. It takes so much less effort to position the pointer, and AFAIK they don't wear out as quickly as the trackpads do.
I hope they popped a new battery in the older MBP. I have a MBP 2.0 Core Duo, and the battery was only lasting about 2 hours with the screen on full brightness. The battery died, and Apple replaced it for free. Now I get about 3 hours of battery life with the screen on full brightness, doing the same things I was doing before.
new MBP battery life-there was an interview with somebody from Apple (linked off Digg i think). they said between the Santa Rosa processor and the LED backlight they are saying it will add another 30-60 minutes of battery life. obviously there are a zillion factors effecting battery life, but maybe you can roughly guess by adding 30 to 60 minutes to the time Apple claims a MBP used to get makes it seem like a nice improvement.

Yes. That, lower consumption and environment friendliness.

Has anyone else noticed that the CCF one is a little bit taller? In exchange for LED's, we get shorter laptops.
