My Core Duo MacBook Pro with Leopard died in the arse last night. Beach ball of death was spinning away when it was trying to wake up. Nothing happened for a while, then had to do a hard reset and then got the folder with a ? in it. Tried various things and it's not looking good so far.
I have had it happen on my MacBook, its only 6 months old and has worked without fault up until I installed leopard. To install leopard I wiped it and did fresh install, two weeks later for the first time the keyboard locked up on me but the mouse was fine. I have few 3rd party apps on the machine, the only way to clear it was to switch off and reload - the fault occurred twice within 1/2 hour. Very poor - especially as I was in the middle of a presentation!
i have had this problem, but a reset fixed it. power button still worked ... this is a 1-week old macbook with leopard preinstalled by apple.anyone else have the problem with the trackpad freezing/jumping? that's really irritating.i get about 2 hrs 15 mins on a fully charged battery. my 12" powerbook G4, which this replaced, got just under 4 hrs ... way to go Apple!
yeah, I've ran into the same problem after installing leopard. I run into it occasionally, but it does seem to be more persistent after my MBP does into a deep sleep.
This happens occasionally to me as well. One fix I've found is by turning the laptop upside over...literally. Works every time, I'm wondering if it has something to do with the accelerometer?

Then I can say Windows Vista "just works".

maybe because their track record wouldn't lead him to believe that they would have a software update out soon that would fix it...

This started happening to my MBP today (running 10.5.1). Really annoying. It happens every 10 or 15 minutes, but sometimes as often as every 30 seconds. I've found pressing and holding a key for 10 seconds or so brings it back every time. Seems to be related to waking from sleep or hibernation.
