gizmodo.com— Reader Eric has a little problem with his MacBook. The bottom left corner of the screen managed to somehow catch on fire, in turn toasting the entire left side of his notebook.

Bwahahahah!Mr Vanquish Owner and his amazing grasp of phrasing.I suppose when you wreck your Vanquish you can then set it on fire and claim that the steering wheel just started burning in your hands, causing you to crash.(Curiously, I've done something that caused a large chip inside a laptop to fry, and emit a ton of noxious smoke- it did not catch on fire. I hooked a laptop in to the TV's input while on battery, playing a movie- unknown to me there was a s**tload of 120 somehow coming in over the cable TV- everything was fine until the battery got low, and I plugged in the AC adapter- as soon as the ground connected the video chip blew)Still was able to boot in to 640x480 after disabling the "enhanced video" in the BIOS :P
this should be good for mac. NOT only is it almost totally secure from 114,000 viruses, but it can withstand a deliberate attempt to destroy it. Now resists fire damage! (if Vanquish claimed to use it after it caught fire once...then again!) This should be the new MacToughBook (Mac edition). The LCD still works with a hole burned in it! Apple should market this...and then go for legal action. i have watched some of vanquish's movies on youtube...he or his friend throws old computers out the window. Why not burn a macbook that he hates? and catching your hand hair on fire by contact with hot plastic? I mean you would have to use a commerical heat gun to do that.
Oh great he's a rich little Jersey Guido that may have well-off parents. OK, I'm thinking about retracting my statements from before, just a shot in the dark here; his little smart-ass thinks he can get a Core 2 Duo Lappie guido style. No offense to Jersey peeps, but from the videos of this guy and his grammar, I dont think you'll mind me using the Jersey Guido stereotype on him. I love Jersey, but have you seen some of the kids running around?
j4200, i admire that you're trying to fight the overwhelming animosity that's been directed at this kid, but i certainly think he could be in legal trouble if he's making this up. free speech doesn't cover lots of things, like death threats for instance. similarly, you can't go saying untrue things about people/companies or they can sue you for slander, and he can certainly be in trouble for trying to defraud apple out of a new machine by lying.
Dude, the work all you did to expose this KID and his LIES freaking rock.Remind me never to piss you guys off, you got his name, face, blog, address all in the course of one night!I hope Apple sues this kid's parents for Slander and Libel
Absolutely nothing he posted is illegal. All of the above is publicly available information. Even the persons address and phone number are public, unless of course the phone number isn't listed with the phone company. It would only be illegal had he given Social Security Numbers and other strictly personal information.
Posting a Social Security Number isn't even illegal. Any information that is on a form that is in a public document is fair game. If I was willing to pay the research fee (or put in appearances a local government offices in person, which I'm not going to do since I live halfway across the country,) I could have his driving record, criminal record (if he is actually over 18,) credit record, and a lot more. And since it's all public records, it's all 100% legal to post on the internet. There used to be a site where you could, FOR FREE, get someone's DMV record in one state. It was only withdrawn because that state decided to start charging for records requests. Before, it was free to request the DMV records of anyone in the state, so someone requested EVERY record, and the state provided it on CD-ROM for him. He then made that a searchable database on the 'net, and went back every 3 months to get a new CD-ROM. It wasn't until the state (Washington, was it?) started charging a few bucks per record that it became no longer feasible. And since some states use your SSN as your drivers license number, you've gotten their SSN, too.
Would the real vanquish please step forward? My guess is the laptop was bought, given, or stolen from someone with a real Aston and is a Dr.. The key chain in Fire fox wasn't deleted and guess what, it was used to try and obtain a better and possibly legit MBP. Reading a bit of his cached blog, the author didn't make many (I confess didn't read much of the blog) grade five spelling mistakes until the last few entries. I wouldn't be surprised if the real vanquish was in Asia far from a computer, unaware of his screen name being used in an alleged fraud.

Diggers, you have to read some of this guy's posts. They are hilarious. Not only is he a 'Docter' who drives an Aston Martin. He is also good friends with 'steave jobs' and works in 'APPLE DISING GROUP'<a class="user" href="http://www.digg.com/apple/IPOD_TOUCH_SCREEN_IS_FOR_REAL_">http://www.digg.com/apple/IPOD_TOUCH_SCREEN_IS_FOR_REAL_</a>I guess he also has a third job (when not attending summer school) working for Version Tracker.<a class="user" href="http://www.digg.com/apple/Install_A_Fake_About_This_Mac_Box_Imitating_Leopard">http://www.digg.com/apple/Install_A_Fake_About_This_Mac_Box_Imitating_Leopard</a>He must be very busy with all of those jobs...no wonder he never learned to spell.
