gizmodo.com— I've ran into a big issue with my MacBook in where the thermal grease applied to the internal components has leached into the RAM slots on my motherboard and have 'soiled' the DIMM's with thermal grease...

For every one poor user experience or poorly assembled piece of equipment, most articles about mac problems forget to mention that apple's warranty and customer service is un-beatable by every other computer manufacturer out there. Have a problem with your macbook? It's less than a year old, just take it in and they'll fix it. For free.
I stopped reading the comments about 1/4 of the way through. Did you folks even read the entire page? It was pointed out not even half way through the comments by more than one reader that it's NOT leaking thermal grease. It's a lubricating grease to protect the memory and memory slot when it is inserted as the slots are very tight. Apple does NOT make the boards, OR the memory, therefore, even if it was a problem (which it's not), it's not Apple's issue, so step off of your high and might Dell horses and get the facts before jumping on the "Apple Sucks" bandwagon. The article wasn't really inaccurate, but it was incorrect, as is the title. As such, marked inaccurate.
maybe it was thermal grease .. its possible you knowJust because the majority of diggers says it isn't doesn't make it so.Unless you see this particular persons laptop you can't assume.
"@flag564You mean, kinda like you and any negative Zune story?"um, no.The people reporting "negative" stories on the Zune are people that have never used it, never seen it, never touched it. They spout off talking points, rumors, and flat out lies and pass it off as the real deal. This guy reports a problem with a computer that he has right in front of him, and the fanboys all scream LIAR!!!!!!!! MARK THIS AS INACCURATE!!!!!!If the Zune was leaking thermal paste, or whatever you want to call it, I wouldn't call the person a liar or try to bury the story especially if other people have had the same problem. And believe me if the Zune has any problem, you guys will be the first to report it and Digg it to the front page in a heartbeat.
Here's the truth of it: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304107The white stuff is the residue of lubricant used in the factories to aid the insertion of DIMMs which otherwise requires quite a lot of force. There are a lot of comments here made in total ignorance. The original poster didn't bother to do any research, made uninformed assumptions, and then posted a "news" item that got it wrong. A simple search on Apple's support would have avoided this. I can't believe this got so many diggs...

It's not thermal grease it's lithium grease used to lubricate the memory to minimize damage during mass production.
