culturegarage.com — As many fellow gadget nerds might know, Apple released their new ultra-thin notebook this morning at the 2008 MacWorld Keynote. The MacBook Air boasts as the ?world?s thinnest notebook,? and certainly lives up to that mark. However, it was soon that my excitement would begin to fade.

There is a big difference between the asus eepc and the macbook air, but there is also a monstrous difference in price. People who buy either of these will be doing basically the same things, so which one is worth more? Something ultra thin and very expensive or something ultra portable and not very expensive at all? Go ahead, make a list of what you can do on the air over what you can do on the eepc. The list is almost identical. "Almost" to me, does not cost 1400 dollars more.

Almost everyone I know with a Dell has had no problems with it.

Shed a tear for the Macbook Air. It has to live forever, with no computer afterlife. It's way too thin to be a decent doorstop.

Business users need a computer that can fit a 3g modem into its port, they also watch movies on air planes at least on occasion. The macbook air is much more money than the macbook which is faster and only slightly thicker. The macbook also has the regular amount of ports. I think the only audience for this computer is the razr crowd that knows very little of computers and has a lot of money to burn. This computer seems like a big mistake to me, under powered and over priced: useless.

I have recieved a macbook Air and..Guess what? It does EXACTLY what I need it to do, and it is light enough to carry it anywhere all the time. Battery life concerns? Get the airline adapter, ethernet connections? Get the adapter! One usb port? Get a hub if you need more. As a travel computer I never need more than one, and wireless works for almost everything I need, except the odd time when I need ethernet, that is WHY there is an adapter.here's a good review for it:http://www.maconair.com/the_pros_and_cons
