regarding the world's largest flower/parasite:"How many of these strange plants still survive is unknown, but the last of them can be expected to vanish as the remaining primary forests of Borneo and Sumatra are burned"this made me sad.

One of these is wrong. I know this for a fact, because the highest windspeed in human history was recorded about a mile from my house. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_Tornado_Outbreak THAT WAS A FUN NIGHT.

How can a river be awarded a Guinness world record? It's a natural occurrence! Mount Everest may be the highest peak in the world, but watch out! I hear that Mount Thor is making a bid for the title by planning on growing a few thousand feet on a diet of lava and minerals over the next millenia. What the heck are the requirements for a Guinness world record? For that matter, does it have anything to do with Guinness beer?

I thought this one was wrong: "The very bottom of the dead sea , in the deepest part, is over 2300 ft below sea level, is the lowest elevation on the Earth. It is the lowest body of water on earth, the lowest point on earth." The Marianas Trench is far lower than the bottom of the dead sea.
