Hmmm... do more of my friends have iPhones or XBox's...yeah, the iGod is definitely a niche device (although I suppose a game console is too).

Ye I realised shortly after I posted that that MS DO have a store, however it seems more like a publicity thing. I don't think MS expect to do most of their business through their own store they are happy for 3rd parties to do that.
