iwr.co.uk — This is awesome. MIT putting all its information from all its courses by the end of the year? Hey imagine when other major institutions follow suit - what a powerful resource! Hope they put a decent search engine on it!

Thanks god SOME diggers have come to their senses and quickly bury the MySpace kiddies who stil using inane acronyms. But geez...at least the MySpace acronyms were at ONE point considered cool. Quoting a lame game show in an acronym just shows once again how non normal (in the worst possible way) Diggers really are.

Watching the lectures is not the same as actually going through the process of going to college. A large part of the value of college is the interactions with classmates, professors, graduate students, etc. Those interactions can't be captured through a video of a lecture. Try asking the professor a question via video. Try debating the meaning of life with your roomate at 2 am when you only have a video of a class. College is much more than a series of lessons in the classroom. It's a process of social growth, of casual learning, and interdisciplinary interactions that take place through the coincidence of location.

All information should be free to anyone in the world who wants it.I didn't know about MIT offering free materials and Im glad someone posted itI do enjoy taking advantage of things like that to learn.Having a degree is handy, but having knowledge is power.

Sounds very cool. I can find all the same stuff with my alumni card at the University library but it will be cool to have it easily accessible.

For the people who want it ... I coudnt imagine , that I will be sitting at home a making my knowledge by that way. The point is , that e-learning is a very good lets called it add-on by making videos lectures and these kind of things for the students which are sick or just cant go to wor on that day... Having the possibility to download the lectures etc (possibility to have some kind of material) its good , but for sure I dont think that someone will choose these option to study ...
