As art I'd grade it a C but I don't know jack about art.As an electronics project I give it a D and only because it actually turns on, at least I assume it turns on.Breadboard is for testing your circuits, the next step is to make a real printed circuit. Then I guess you'd pin it to your chest or something if that's what turns you on.
Do you know what the contents of a modern cell phone can be made to do under the right circumstances? How do you justify arresting someone at gunpoint over a breadboard and some wires, but not a cellphone given that? The security at an airport does not exist to point guns at innocent people. If they wanted to check for a problem as you say, they should have asked her to step aside to talk about what she was wearing.
I think its weird that a cogent post like this is getting dugg down. This is the reason why digg.com is going down the drain. The lowest common denominator is gaining the upper hand.
I'm not sure what amuses me most. The fact that the US seems to have been turned into a police state and no-one noticed, or the fact that their citizens seem to generally approve of it.Quote from "Since 911 the number of bombings that have taken place left them no choice."Did I miss something. There has been a bombing in Madrid and one in London; oh and thousands in Iraq. None of which were carried out by art project wielding MIT students that I'm aware of.If she was a suicide bomber, she would have walked into the airport, gone to the most crowded part and gone boom.End of story.Suicide bombers don't make a habit of showing what they've got, i.e the bomb is under a coat not on display complete with a 9v battery.Fwiw, I used to love coming the US, DefCON, Blackhat, Florida, La, Disney world the whole kit and kaboodle. Not been in the last 6 years...not going to either for a while I think. Not saying the UK is perfect either, I mean we shot someone for "looking like a terrorist", but hey most people were fairly outraged, although there was some sympathy about the fact that when confronted by armed police the guy tried to run, instead of doing what he was told, then again, he was Brazilian and perhaps didn't have a clue what he was being asked. So, airport not ok in UK for circuit boards on display. Mass Transit train system ok.How does that work, it's pretty easy to replace planes. Trains and tracks are a hell of a lot more difficult. Also, would it have been ok if it were in a black box like a laptop?
