gonext.blogspot.com — "According to the lastest issue of EGM, Microsoft is looking to buy the Japanese game developer, Capcom... Having Resident Evil all to themselves in Japan would definitely help out Microsoft who has never been able to break into the Japanese market well." They would have access to brands such as R.Evil, Devil May Cry, Megaman, and more.

So? Thats still a valid way to get a larger audience, even if you personally don't like it.

MistWalker is also developing for the Nintendo DS. Their first game is Archaic Sealed Heat. I guess Microsoft is allowing this since they do not view Nintendo as a threat (and in fact, does semi-promoting of their products).http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASH:_Archaic_Sealed_Heat

It's interesting how people get so emotional. I read recently that Microsoft Game Studios has about 1100 employees (including Rare, Bungie, etc.) vs Sony with well over double that number. Are people accusing Sony of being monopolistic? A previous poster said he would never buy an MS product (or was it game) again if they bought Capcom. Somehow I doubt someone that emotionally involved would ever buy an MS game anyway.Odds are that this may not be the best purchase for Microsoft. But they have shown that they are in it to win it...so all bets are off. I personally want to see a 33-33-33 market share scenario so the three companies have to duke it out well into the future. If Capcom helps Microsoft reach their 33% then I'm fine with it.

Regarding the "xboy": Microsoft claims it will make it possible for the Zune to play games by July 2008. They're currently being quiet about how complex these games will be, but I suspect they have plans to make the Zune one-up the DS and PSP.
