Tell that to the Original Australians who arrived to a green oasis filled with lakes and giant Marsupials only to have to endure 2 ice ages, an extinction of all the larger animals and the total drying out of the interior. Any permanent lakes are gone, the Rivers are drying up again and may cease to flow at all and who knows for how long..The planet is drying out and removing trees is 40% of the problem..
"the planet dies and starts anew. probably a few hundred times before it dies. does it really matter what life formed before us, or after we die?"This could be the singular most stupid environmental point ever made.
